How to check your fines?
Follow these three steps to review and pay your violations on SIMIT
Visit SIMIT
Go to www.simit.org.co from any browser. The service is free and available 24 hours a day.
Search by plate or ID
Enter the driver's ID number or the vehicle license plate. The system will check in real time.
Pay or appeal
If you have fines, you can pay online or at authorized physical points. You can also appeal if you believe the fine is incorrect.
Fine Amounts in Colombia
Fines are calculated in Daily Legal Minimum Wages (DLMW).
4 – 8 DLMW
Not wearing a seatbelt, using phone without hands-free, not carrying vehicle documents.
8 – 15 DLMW
Speeding up to 30 km/h over the limit, ignoring traffic signs, illegal parking.
15 – 30 DLMW
Driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding more than 30 km/h over the limit, fleeing an accident scene.
More than 30 DLMW
Driving with blood alcohol above 1.0 g/L, repeat serious offenses, negligent homicide.
